Off the cuff the only 3 reflux meds I can think of that come in liquid are Axid, Zantac and Protonix. All the rest are some type of solutab or capsule that would need to be opened and put on food and swallowed that way.
You can take some meds like PRilosec and crush them (the phramacist) and suspend them into a liquid.
From someone who has used a compounded form of Prilosec for over 18 months with success…….I’d use the privaciad first….Just the opnion of someone who goes through all the hoops to get a comopund every month
EVERY single darn month my pharmacy has to FUSS and COMPLAIN with my ins. co. before they can fill it. And now….the inc. co will only pay for GERD meds for 90 days. After that I have to go through a hole nother set of hoops to get he GERD meds. filled again.
It’s horrible…
The single ONLY reason we do a compound is due to needing the meds for Jedd, ALL of them, to be in liquid form only. His meds had to go inot a feeding tube so we had NO choice they all had to be compounded no matter what we had.
Even now that thye are taken orally for the last month (we’re tube weaning) he stillneeds for them to be liquid because he can’t do any textures yet. He has major oral issues.
Yes the *can* lose ther effectiviness BUT, it you have a good opharmacy as we do, then they will and can stay stable for eht whole month. We get ours done at he children’s hosp. so they do TONS of these types of RXs a day.
Long story short, do a solutab of a straight liquid..LOL
