It is hard to believe that I am writing a hip hip hooray after the week that we have had, but I am. Jackson has been running a high fever, has an ear infection, is experiencing teething pain, is sleeping poorly and has just overall felt terrible. But, NO SPIT!!! I cannot believe it. I figure that if he is not spitting up in the midst of all of this (while on antibiotics), he is getting over this! The last couple of weeks his reflux has become almost nonexistent! He is 2 weeks away from his first birthday and I am hopeful that he is outgrowing GERD. Just a month ago, he was spitting worse than ever. Now, he can go entire days without a drop of spit up. It feels like a miracle.
As we approach his first birthday, I reflect on just how hard and emotional this year has been for us. What would I have done without the support of you all? I was so blessed to have come across this site and gain so much emotional support and valuable information. I am always bragging about the intelligence of the women on this site! I believe that Jackson was a much healthier baby because of the things that I learned through the women on this site. It has been a tough road, but I think that if he outgrows this, like he seems to be miraculously doing, his birthday will be so special. It will be a day to celebrate his freedom from reflux! He is such a tough little trooper! For those of you still struggling, there is hope! Jackson was in a bad place for so long, but I see the end of this bumpy road.

But, I’m SO glad that it seems the end is in sight. That is the exact way it happened for Ben, just sort of out of no where, he started spitting less and less and suddenly I had to ask myself when the last time he spit up was. It was so nice to not have to keep him in a bib 24/7!
Wonderful news. I’m so pumped for you.August 13, 2008 at 3:04 pm #55306AnonymousInactiveGreat news. Seems like 1yr will be your magic age. I hope this continues.

I think it was Kristin (kdub) I was telling this to. Once you get through something like that without reflux, you know the end of the reflux battle has come! I had goosebumps for you when I read this! I am so happy for you!!!! Yay Jackson, WTG, Buddy! Have a great 1st B-day.

Wow– it really does sound like improvement if he is going through all of this and the reflux hasn’t returned. That’s wonderful!!! Congrats!!!August 16, 2008 at 6:24 pm #55423hellbenntKeymaster -
