for the past 3 days shane will try and eat something.. and then spit it out.. .. even his favorite foods!
he is GREAT with drinks.. and applesauce.. but anything solid wont go down.could it be reflux again?? i dont think so.. but it always is like a cloud over my head..he has been on diary products for about 3 months now.. but recently i think he has had more.. and i put all milk in his bottle on monday.. could that have caused this whole mess???!i took him to the doctor.. a little red throat.. but no soars.. waiting for strep culture to come back.if anyone has gone threw this it is MUCH appreciated …. as always 😉shanesmom 2008-06-18 17:59:39 June 18, 2008 at 7:56 pm #52749AnonymousInactiveHi Lauren!
How are you feeling? I’m wondering if he’s developed a throat infection or is coming down with a cold/sickness. Just the fact that his throat looks red.HAPPY belated b-day to Shane, btw! I can’t believe he’s 2 already!June 18, 2008 at 8:27 pm #52751AnonymousInactiveI agree with Lori, I bet his throat is bothering him since it is alittle red. The fact that he can do liquids and applesauce makes me think a texture thing probably scratching his throat and making it hurt. I hope it ends soon whatever it is. I know about the reflux cloud… we will probably always turn to reflux even when they are in their teens just out of habit! Good Luck.
June 18, 2008 at 9:53 pm #52758AnonymousInactiveAwww, poor guy! I hope it is just a sore throat…I would bet it is. I doubt it is reflux (although that cloud still hangs above my head too!) Hope he gets his appetite back soon!
How are you feeling? Are you close to finding out gender of new baby…or will it be a surprise?June 18, 2008 at 10:54 pm #52766AnonymousInactivethanks guys…
makes me feel a little better.. it is 11:00pm here.. and i cant sleep because this has got me so stressed that it might be reflux.. and a milk intolerance.. and i am back at step one again. tonight is the 3rd night he has gone to bed with practically NOTHING in his stomach. He also wouldnt drink his bottle tonight! I think it might be because i took the whole milk out and only did rice milk…. hopefully thats it.but i am glad to hear that you guys think its a sore throat. it is still stressful within itself when they dont eat for whatever reason.anyway! i am doing well.. 14 weeks.. sooo i think i have to wait until 20 or so weeks to find out.. i cant wait to know though! AND i cant believe how old ALL our kids are getting!! wow.. time flies when you are having fun ..haha.. jk.thanks again everyone for your help.. and for any one that has anything else to add..i will keep everyone updated.June 19, 2008 at 3:35 pm #52781AnonymousInactiveI guess they checked his ears, Lauren? I know ear drainage can cause throats to be sore too.. they always do for me. And neither of my kids want to eat when they have an ear infection.
June 19, 2008 at 3:44 pm #52782AnonymousInactivethanks naomi.. yep they looked in his ears..
i am sooo confused as to what to think! no other signs of a virus…. eats a couple bites of something when he is starving.. and other times.. he literally bites it and then takes it out of his mouth! weird.June 19, 2008 at 6:29 pm #52786AnonymousInactivehi!
Coming in late here….I agree with the others it is prob just a sore throat. It is always an appetite killer for my boys. also, I am sure the reason he would not take his bottle is b/c you switched up the milk on him. I would only consider reflux/intolerance if another week or so goes by and he’s still doing this (after his throat is better)and wow….14 weeks…1st tri is already done! YAY!June 19, 2008 at 9:11 pm #52795AnonymousInactiveso.. we can add diarhea to the mix..
hmmm… what is going on? not a lot.. just during his normal pooping times…June 19, 2008 at 9:47 pm #52799AnonymousInactiveI wonder if he has a small stomach bug going on… Interesting.. If it continues I might take him to the doc. Are they open on the weekends? If not I might take him tomorrow so that you are covered for the weekend in case it gets bad… Very Odd. I hope whatever it is improves soon.
June 19, 2008 at 10:35 pm #52803AnonymousInactiveJust a thought….
Landen had a sore throat and post nasal drip once that gave him diarrhea once. The drainage irritated his stomach. It could be one of those yucky viruses that have all kinds of symptoms. Kids pick up the oddest things…hope he’s feeling better soon. Keep us posted!jilly782008-06-19 22:35:42
June 19, 2008 at 10:47 pm #52804AnonymousInactiveWhen Taylor is teething she always has the extra salvia and then her nose starts the runny nose draining to her throat which really irriates it and unfortunately her reflux starts to kick in again and she starts to get loose poops as well, not bad but much softer than usual. And then she too refused to eat solids, she will eat crunchy stuff like cherrios/pretzels but not actual “food” Hopefully it is just a sore throat!
