My suggestion is DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THAT BABY TO SLEEP. That includes anything you said you would never do. With my first son he slept in a swing, his carseat, and with us. All things I said would never happen, but when I started seeing things because I was so tired I threw that all out the window. With my younger son what worked for him was leaving him latched on all night long and letting him nurse. I thought it would drive me crazy, but he and I both slept so well that way. He is 21 months old now and hasn’t been doing that since he was 10 months old. So, for anyone to say you will never break them from it they are wrong. Justice couldn’t lay flat so I would put my arm on a pillow and lay him on my arm on the pillow. If I tryed just laying him flat on the bed he would spit up. I would also recommend sleeping on top of a towel if you decided to do that. I also have to agree with Erica that if your baby is in pain he will not sleep well. check out marci-kids.com for correct dosing info.
