Oh my gosh that is horrible! I don’t think I would like to work in FL or I would have been fired too!!!!! I would contact the media when you are more rested! I’ve been reading what was up with Landon- Not a great week for you!

if you have it in you to fight, I wish you all the best to fight the fight!!!! do you know any lawyers (friends) who could type up a letter for you? just something on letterhead…or contact the ‘sensationalist’ news station- it’s channel 7 by me…

JILL!!! OMG, I’m just getting to this after being gone for a zillion years. I’m absolutely shocked and disgusted. You must be so livid. I’M SO MAD AND IT’S NOT ME!!!! Look, these things happen for a reason and God usually doesn’t leave us hanging for too too long…. most of the time. I’m thinking about you guys okay? You’re in my prayers too!!! UGH!!!!!!

DH’s uncle is a corporate lawyer in South Florida. We are going to talk to him.

Other than that, I am getting paid through the end of October (they are paying me 5 weeks of pay)…3 of it was my vacation and 2 of it was on them. they weren’t going to give me ANYTHING until I told them I was calling my attorney..and yet still..5 weeks of pay is nothing compared to what my ongoing salary was. I was making a pretty good salary after a decade of employment.

OMG Jill! I’m so freakin’ mad, and it didn’t even happen to me. You must be so angry and so disheartened too. I’m glad that you were at least able to get them to give you the 5 weeks pay, but I will pray that some new and even better job opportunities come your way quickly.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope that everything works out in the end. That really is terrible for a workplace to do that after you’ve dedicated 10 years to them.

I agree with some of the other moms. Use the power of potential negative press to at the very least get your vacation days paid for. I live in a at will state as well but I have seen companies pay out just to keep the negative press to a minimum. Now that you are at home, make it your “job” to get everything in order to get what you can.

You mentioned losing your house. Don’t give up the fight just yet. I suggest going to daveramsey.com and listen to his radio show if you aren’t already doing it. It has a lot of great advice on what to do during these types of tough times.
