Yes, the Alimentum smells really gross, like rotton cheese!
I have switched to the ready-to-feed Alimentum formula, based on the advice I received here, and for some reason it smells a little better than the powdered one.The GI specialist now has my son on 15mg of Prevacid in the morning and 1ML of Pepcid at night. So HERE WE GO AGAIN! Now it’s the waiting game too see if any of these changes in medication and forumla will “work”.All I know is that last night was terrible since he went to bed at 9:30pm and woke up at 10:00pm, 11:00pm, 12:00pm, 1:00pm having reflux attacks , until finally going to bed at 2:00am. Mylanta could not even put a dent in it.grrrrr…….verykeri2007-12-02 23:45:45

He is now sleeping at night again- but only on the Tucker Sling, which he is growing out of.Now during the day, usually toward the late afternoon he is having the worst screaming fits ever. He becomes totally inconsolable for at least a half hour and just sounds like he’s in so much pain.I took him to see my chiropractor, just for the heck of it, and the chiro said my son looks very good and that there were no major subluxations. I also took him for an emergency visit at his pediatrician, just to make sure there was nothing else going on that would cause him pain (like an earache, teething, etc.) She said he looked “like a million dollars”. She also concluded that he does NOT have colic since he is so happy when he is NOT having a reflux attack. He was smiling and cooing at her.I called the GI specialist, and they scheduled him for an upper GI series (from what I’ve read here and elsewhere it seems that this test is pretty pointless).I want the GI specialist to SEE what my poor son goes through so I managed to videotape one of his gulping/screaming episodes while my husband was holding him. On the tape you can clearly hear him choking and see how much pain he’s in and hear him howling. I hope the tape will convince the specialist to do everything in his power to help my son.Whenever I take my little one to his GI appointments he is smiling and cooing because it’s usually early morning and he does not have many issues then. I want them to see how terrible it is when he has a reflux attack. Sometimes I think they take it too lightly or just figure that I am a new mom and might be exaggerating.Every day I pray that he will feel better and outgrow this. I hate to see him hurting.verykeri2007-12-06 23:36:27

I also took my first daughter to my chiropractor who said she looked fine. This time I talked to a friend of mine who is a chiropractor and she said it is very unlikely that she is fine and that he probably isn’t experienced with infants. So I took this daughter very early on and she found several subluxations!! My daughter is almost a completely different baby after a few weeks of adjustments. The reflux is WAY better and she is 2.5 months old. My first daughter wasn’t this good until a year old!! I wish I had done this sooner. Find another chiropractor……
