August 21, 2012 at 1:28 pm #70823AnonymousInactiveMy mom (babysitter) says he is doing lots better today! He has lost the fever and is more cheerful. However, he is soooooo restless when he sleeps. Tossing and turning. Not laying still. Is this a sign that he is still uncomfortable from the reflux?!
August 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm #70825AnonymousInactiveI’m so glad he’s doing better! My boys used to toss and turn all night long. When they started drinking the alkaline water I was amazed at how much that decreased. After they started taking the Digestive Health pills the tossing and turning stopped. Every once in awhile Jackson will still do that (like once a month? maybe) and I will wake him up if he doesn’t wake up on his own and make him drink some water along with taking a Digestive Health pill and if I can get him to I try to get him to eat a bite or 2 of bread. I am impressed at how this will calm him down and he’ll calmly go back to sleep.
So, yes I would say that the tossing and turning is a sign of still being uncomfortable. 🙁 Happy Mom2012-08-21 14:01:53
August 21, 2012 at 2:30 pm #70826AnonymousInactiveTo try it out can I buy Alkaline water in the stores?!
August 21, 2012 at 4:23 pm #70827AnonymousInactiveWell, that is a good question. I have never seen it sold in stores but it might be. I assume that the reason it isn’t readily sold in stores is that the pH levels start to drop soon after it is made. The water that our machine produces will keep alkalinity for over a week, but before we bought our own machine and got water from my husband’s parents, we noticed that we got the best results the first 2 days. The first day the boys would sleep well through the night but if we used 3 day old water their sleeping was more restless.
I have seen places on line that tell how to make alkaline water but haven’t read up on it. So I have no idea if it works or not.
There are many brands and types of water machines out there to buy. If you google “alkaline water” on the Internet you will find this out. They all claim to be the best of course. 🙂 I can not speak for any machine but the one we have (Enagic). Enagic is one of the more expensive brands but it is also one of the most popular and is the only brand that is an approved medical device in Japan. Japan is number one a health scale. (the United States in number 43. :()
Among the types of machines that make alkaline water, a lot of them use electricity (like ours) to separate tap water that you run through it. Nothing is added to the water. Some companies use a device that has a filter that adds vitamins and minerals that make the water alkaline, instead of using and separating your tap water with electricity. I have even seen a company that has a pitcher that has a filter in it that claims to make alkaline water. I am not against other companies and don’t feel that they are worthless. I just don’t know what quality of water they produce.
I don’t know about other companies, but with Enagic you can return it after 30 days of use if you don’t get the results you want. So if you were thinking to buy something that makes alkaline water I’d make sure you know what the return policy is.
Are you giving him probiotics and enzymes?
August 21, 2012 at 4:42 pm #70828AnonymousInactiveThanks so much for all your input! I found a recipe online to use baking soda to make alkaline water with distilled water. I will try this until I can afford the actual alkaline filter. Hopefully, it will work for now!
August 21, 2012 at 6:54 pm #70832AnonymousInactiveThat sounds interesting! The machines and filters have other properties to them so I will interested to find out if home made alkaline water helps your little one. 🙂 Keep me posted! Happy Mom2012-08-21 18:55:41
