My understanding is that it is accurate, but that hearing can change and be diminished by other causes such as repeated ear infections or viruses causing dripping into the ears. My friend’s child had normal hearing at birth, but then after repeated ear infections she had it tested again at 1.5 years…It came back as being severe hearing loss. After a set of tubes, it’s now back to normal.

My opinion is get another dr. I have nothing against the PH probe per se, but I DO have a problem with his reasoning. You don’t give a 4 1/2 month old a ph probe just to prove to the parents that their baby is just seeking attention. WHat a crock of ****! You cannot spoil a baby at that age. What baby doesn’t want the attention of their parents……..whether they are sick or not!
