Chloe has been given 1 ml dose twice a day.
Can I mix it with formula?
I gave her alone yesterday, she gagging because of the flavor (grape flavor added!!!).
Is Zantac weight sensitive too?
Thanks!August 7, 2008 at 11:30 am #55165AnonymousInactiveShe never take a full dosage since she will spit them out.
What should I do?August 7, 2008 at 11:42 am #55166AnonymousInactiveI don’t know about putting it in the bottle. After squirting it in her mouth close her mouth & plug her nose. Sounds mean, but she will have to swallow.
Yes, Zantac is very weight sensitive.

Sit on a couch or somewhere where you can prop your legs up. Put the baby on your legs facing you with her head elevated with your knees and give it to her while she’s eating her bottle. As she’s eating, don’t pull out the bottle, but slid the syringe in the side of her mouth and gently press the syringe, give her a sec to eat it, and repeat until the complete dose has been given. Like I said, this is the only way I can get my DD to take her meds and she’s on a couple of them right now.HTH!August 7, 2008 at 1:36 pm #55171hellbenntKeymaster14.5 divided by 2.2. = 6.6 kilos
max dose for weight is 10mgs per kilo so10 x 6.6 = 66 mgs total for the daybottle should say 15mgs/mlso divide 66 by 15 = 4.4 mls total for the day of zantac, given in two doses(they can be split up ‘unevenly’ w/ a higher portion given at the worst tome- am or pm)Zantac dosing- my/other’s question (has axid dose too): https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=9539&PID=82914#82914hellbennt2008-08-07 14:20:18

The reaction was usually always for him to swallow. Sounds mean, but the horrid minty taste of zantac is awful and he could smell it before he tasted it and he was THAT smart even at 3 weeks old to learn any way NOT to take it if I didn’t do it that way. He would even refuse a bottle if I put it IN his bottle. he knew it was there. Good luck!

I do the same thing. Its the only way Nicholas will take liquid meds.kdub 2008-08-07 14:41:03 August 8, 2008 at 6:40 pm #55215AnonymousInactiveWhen we were attempting the Zantac, I had the same problem – my boy HATED the minty taste and it would usually make him drool it all out. I finally figured out a trick that seemed to work every time without him losing the whole dose…
Add about a tsp. of breast milk or formula to a bottle nipple and allow your baby to suck on it til the fluid is gone, at which point, squirt the Zantac from the syringe into the nipple…voilá!

Sorry, I don’t know what else to suggest.
Good Luck -
