how long did the stomach virus last??

Hi,

Lauren has been battling the stomach flu since last Friday morning. She has had a fever to 103 which went away Saturday, but is still vomiting from time to time and having diarrhea. She is refusing to eat…we can only get fluid into her when she is asleep This is our first time for her to be sick and I know these viruses must take a toll on their already fragile little bodies. We were already having a hard time getting her to eat when she felt good. This has been quite the set-back. Just wanted to know how long this could go on…

Poor Baby! If you look under the posts in boohoo from last week, you will get more info. But basically Ryann is at the tail end of this. It has lasted a week. Thought she was over it but she had diarrhea today. Basically it was 2-3 days of 102-103 fever. Major vomiting and diarrhea. The diarrhea was the most watery, yellow liquid that i ever saw. It seemed like her intestines were so inflamed, just full of painful gas too. We used unflavored pedialyte and even bought the popcycle ones. The doc. said not to give her milk again until she was done throwing up because it makes it worse. When we started giving her milk, we told us to half cal it by watering it down half and half. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope you all get some releif soon!

It lasted us a week and the diarrhea can go for up to 10 days. It’s ugly. Hang in there!

Nate had the bug beginning Friday evening (the Fri before last), and he was 90% better the following Thursday. He only had a fever for the first 24hrs or so (102F). Vomitting was bad only for 12 hours, but he did throw up a few times over the next few days. His gag reflex was also in overdrive for about 5 days, and he was extremely lethargic up until the bug was just about completely gone. His stools are still very soft, but had been very watery for about 4 days.

We saw 2 different doctors during the week he was sick, and both said 5-7 days until he was better, but the diarrhea would last longer. Both were right on the money.
