Hi everyone, I don’t get on here much anymore but still think of you all often and wish I could lend more support to the newbies!
Anyways, just wanted to update that Seth’s reflux seems to be getting a lot better (so good sometimes that I think he is finally over it!!) but then he will have a relapse (like the past few days after eating too much Easter candy!)We are still doing the Prevacid 30 mg but at his last GI appt, the GI thought he looked really well and suggested we try a milk trial (he still drinks rice milk) before we decreased the dosage so if his reflux did start to really act up, we would know what it was. If all goes well with the milk trial, we are suppossed to cut the Prevacid down to 1/2 (15 mg.) and then taper off from there.Part of me is thrilled to try but I am also scared to mess with anything too KWIM? It just tooks us so long to get to this point but I certainly don’t want him on the meds. forever if he doesn’t need them either.I am also worried about the milk and now he has been on the rice milk so long, he thinks that is “his milk” and prefers it (he tells me the school milk is yuk!!)I am rambling now… hope all is well with everyone!!!!! Would love to hear some updates from others.April 17, 2009 at 11:02 am #62157AnonymousInactiveThanks for the update! I am so glad that he is doing so well! I hope that the milk trial goes well and that he will outgrow his reflux soon.

April 18, 2009 at 9:30 am #62174AnonymousInactiveHi Tiffany!
How are you??!! I’m so glad to hear that Seth is doing well. It’s so encouraging to others. Nothing much is new here with us- except that we’re moving in two weeks!!!… and I haven’t started packing yet. We were getting ready for a garage sale today as we were supposed to have very warm weather here, but the sky suddenly darkened up, and now I have a main floor full of baby stuff and kids running around wanting to reclaim all the baby toys from their “youth”. Actually I couldn’t stop crying when I looked at some of the items. Just a reminder that there won’t be any more babies around here. When I came across Hailey’s comfy lift bed and her amby hammock, I really did cry. It seems like so long ago. I’m going to put them up on ebay if I can’t get any takers on this site.Hailey is pretty much off all reflux meds for over a year now, except for daily miralax. She is starting kindergarten in September, and turns 4 next month!!! She’s still pulling her hair out (thanks for the habit, GERD) and we’re going to have to cut her hair super short again as soon as I get the guts to do it.Is Seth a good sleeper now? Hailey still is not! Not terrible, but she does wake most nights and I need to go in and fix her up in bed.Remember those awful sleep years?!Keep in touch.HUGS.April 19, 2009 at 9:56 pm #62180AnonymousInactiveThanks for the update Tiffany. I sure hope the milk trial goes well and that a med wean is in the future for you. Thanks for checking in!

I am so glad to hear that Seth is doing so well!! I can’t imagine doing prevacid that long (I think of Kade, since Seth and Kade are practically the same age). I am sure you are so anxious about the med wean, but optimistic and hopeful too. you are in my thoughts and prayers that it goes well and also that he can tolerate milk! I feel your pain there, I’ve got 1 on soymilk and one on potato based milk.jilly782009-04-23 22:23:10
April 24, 2009 at 7:30 am #62249AnonymousInactiveJust getting to this as well.
So great to “see” you Tiffany~Always love the updates!April 30, 2009 at 2:49 pm #62339AnonymousInactiveHey Tiffany!
I don’t get on here too often either so I just saw this – but it’s so nice to hear you guys are doing well. Connor just turned 6 months, amazingly. He seems to be doing ok – he’s on neocate and 15 mg of prevacid daily, and started oatmeal two weeks ago and is doing well with it. We’d tried solids earlier and they didn’t go too well but it seems – knock on wood – that oatmeal is ok with him.
Owen is doing great – he’s such a KID now! Do you find that with Seth too? I just can’t believe how much he’s not my baby anymore, especially now that I have Connor to compare him to.
It’s great to “hear” from you – keep in touch!
LauraApril 30, 2009 at 7:37 pm #62343AnonymousInactivelaura-I hope you dont mind me asking your some questions. I just noticed your son is almost the same age as mine and has the same problems as mine. I am really struggling over here. We just started solutabs but he is on 7.5mg once a day. We are on day 4. His sleep is horrible. 45 min intervals I just dont know what to do. How is your little ones sleep? Right now my little one is bf but I am on TED and his stool has cleared up and his eczema is almost gone. But the sleeppppp I just dont know how to fix it.
