Well Ashlynn has her first offical ear infection. About two months ago we went to the ENT to check her hearing, which was ok, but she did have fluid in the rt ear. The dr wanted us to come back in 2 months and if there was fluid still there he suggested tubes. Her sleeping lately has been . Do you think I should jump right into tubes? I know that I do no want to battle ear infections like I did with Danika my 2yo

Cooper had an ear infection at I think 4 or 5 months and knock on wood hasn’t had once since, however he is holding his ear and tiliting his head lately, but doesn’t appear in pain. I would wait and see if this is going to a chronic thing or not. She may have this one and not get another one ever or for a long long time… that is what I am hoping for for you.

Carter had no ear infections, but he did fail the hearing test because of the standing fluid so ours were covered. I would say if they are going to suggest it to go for it. Carter passed the hearing test after they were placed, so totally worth it for us.

Ann Marie, I think I remember something like the fluid can be tested- it’s acidity- so you can find out if it’s reflux related?February 4, 2008 at 8:46 am #47961AnonymousInactiveI think you are right, Laura. I think they can test the PH level with one of those sticks or similar to testing the ph in a pool. We never did, but I think others have.

Constant nasal congestion, tiny tubes in the ear canal and reflux. She is starting to get hiccups again , does this mean that her reflux is acting up? We had a small amount come out of her nose saturday, nothing major though, she sneezed and her came her formula through her nose. I am sure that dh and I will proably go ahead and get tubes, since the fluid has been there for two months. With Danika we fought EI for about 5 months with antibotic’s and series of shots. By the time we made it to the ENT her hearing was down slightly, but returned after tubes. I just do not want to go down that road again , with a fever every other week or two.
On a postive note Ashlynn finally slept on her belly last nigth with out crying.—mommy got a little sleep. Usually when she rolls over on her belly she wakes up crying . Danika and I saw Elmo grow’s up last night and her face and action where priceless when Elmo came on stagestcwatt2008-02-04 12:15:07
