I think Trace has some stomach virus or something. he woke up at 3 am and i fed him. soon after, he threw up the entire bottle.
woke up at 6 am i fed him again, soon after threw up the whole bottle!
then at 10 i tried again, threw up, everything! and i noticed it looked kind of like bile with bubbles and a greenish tinge.
so what do i do..he cant eat…..now his reflux is going to flair if he cant take his meds…..ugh. should i call the doctor or is there nothign that can be done?
thanksDecember 23, 2006 at 12:15 pm #20942AnonymousInactiveI would definitely call the DR. Maybe there is a specific bug going around and he can give you recommendations. Brianna had something similar a while back…only things would come out the other end about 30 min after she ate,….our Dr. suggested pedialyte to keep her hydrated as best I could. I am not sure what you could do about the meds except keep trying…I am sure some of it is getting in him and some is better than none.
December 23, 2006 at 1:25 pm #20943AnonymousInactiveWe all just got over a stomach bug a week or so ago. Myles had it the worst. He threw up everything he ate for a few days, then pooped out everything he ate for a few more days. On the worst days I had to feed him very small amounts (like a tablespoon or two) of formula or pedialyte every 15 or 30 minutes to keep him hydrated. If I gave him too much at once he’d throw it all up. Myles was sick for six days. I hope Trace’s bug is milder and he gets over it more quickly.
I agree that you should try to give him his meds….hopefully some of it will stay down long enough to be absorbed.
December 23, 2006 at 1:51 pm #20945AnonymousInactivenow he has diarhea its soooooooooooo stinky!!
doctor closed early…
i will try pedialite…December 23, 2006 at 5:27 pm #20956AnonymousInactiveThat’s how it went with Myles….first the vomitting, then the putrid smelling diarrhea. I hope he takes some pedialyte for you.
December 23, 2006 at 6:40 pm #20958AnonymousInactivehe was sick for 6 days?? wow i always thought these things were like 24 hoursi cant imagine this going on for that long.
i hope he’s not sick for christmasDecember 23, 2006 at 9:24 pm #20965AnonymousInactiveYeah, that’s what I always thought. But I’ve learned that Rotavirus can last 3-9 days. I hope he’s better in time for Christmas.

how would he have gotten rotavirus?? ugh this stinks he is vomitting every bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!December 23, 2006 at 9:57 pm #20967AnonymousInactiveI’m pretty sure we got it at church, but who knows? It spreads like wildfire in the winter months. You can pick it up anywhere. I read that this virus can live for days on surfaces, so it spreads very easily.
Have you tried feeding him smaller volumes? Sometimes they can keep it down better if you feed them frequent but small feedings.

December 24, 2006 at 9:40 am #20981AnonymousInactivePoor Trace. I narrowly kept Myles out of the ER because he had it so bad. I hope Trace is ok. Please let us know.
