So since having croup and maybe around his Baptism at least a month ago—- our little one has been not sleeping at all. He is up on axid .9 ml and since I add the mistake of having cheese in his baptism ( those stuffed shells were calling my name!) he is getting up at least every 3 hrs on a good night. Bad night is every 45mins-1 hr…… Soooooo……we were sleeping pretty good before – not sure what to do next?
W are following TED and he is happier during the day and his skin has cleared up but the sleep is still not good. I think his meds is not right dosage. Because the axid was working——– I am tempted to buy a wedge or the FP newborn rock n play

December 27, 2012 at 9:16 pm #71349AnonymousInactiveno I haven’t but would love to look into it_ can you recommend one?
We did get a apt with a Aprn at our pedi GI thank goodness!
I think I need to put my 2.5 year old on a good probiotic too and maybe a digestive enzyme—- My husband has cronhs…
December 28, 2012 at 10:19 am #71352hellbenntKeymasterplease check med dose- axid is very weight sensitive- look for link called zantac dosing- you can even make you ‘own’ zantac- but anyway, there’s axid dosing given in the zantac dosing link-
it most likely needs to be increase-
if both increasing the axid dose and adding in probioitcs/enzymes don’t ‘do it’ then it just may be time to ‘move on’ to a PPI

I just typed out all kinds of info in other posts

If I wasn’t on vacation to be with my family, and it wasn’t so late, I would love to give you a very detailed reply. Hopefully when we get home next week I will have more time!
After my children suffered for several years from reflux, had to be on meds, avoid many foods, never slept well at all, etc etc…. I finally started finding answers that led me to the root of their problems. Finally this past year, I created a blog about what all we went through with our children and what we found to help. Throughout the year, I have added numerous more pages about various things pertaining to digestive problems.
So for now I will give you links to the pages on my blog that I think will help you the most. It really is pretty hard on me to not post something more personal but to enjoy my precious little time with my family, I know I need to get some sleep.
http://help4acidreflux.wordpress.com/ This is the home page of my blog and if you are short on time and don’t want to read all the details about how my children suffered, you can skim through it and go down to the part that is bold italic print. That tells about how the probiotics and enzymes helped. Or you can just go to my shortened version page. http://help4acidreflux.wordpress.com/what-i-found-to-help-my-children-short-version/
When looking for a good quality brand of probiotics and enzymes, on this page http://help4acidreflux.wordpress.com/how-to-choose-the-right-probioticenzyme-supplement/, I tell about what kind we use, but also what to look for if you want to use a different brand.
If you decide to start taking a digestive enzyme and/or probiotic supplement, be aware that although this is a good sign, they can cause symptoms to temporarily worsen. Here is a page that tells about it. http://help4acidreflux.wordpress.com/side-effects-of-probiotics-and-enzymes/
There are many other pages on my blog and some of them are other mom’s stories that I think you would find of interest.
I am not portraying or claiming that probiotics and/or enzymes will cure anybody. But I will say I believe that ANYONE with any kind of digestive problems will greatly benefit from them. 🙂
Feel free to ask if you have any questions for me! And I wish you the best in finding answers and help for your little one!
