Sorry I just need to whine a moment. Kayleigh has had two nights of horrific sleep out of three and she appeared to be doing well tonight so I was counting on catching up on my zzzzzz’s But oh no. Her cousins were over tonight and she was chasing them and crashed her forehead into the door frame! She came running to me screaming when she finally let me look. She has a 1 1/2 inch line on her forehead right at her hairline and for a brief moment I swore it was split open but thank god it wasn’t. So a little ice and TLC I thought everything was Ok but then 20 mins later she wanted to go to sleep, couldn’t focus her eyes it seemed. UH no so a call to the ped and we were sent to ER and have a slight concussion so I HAVE to WAKE her tonight GGRRRRR. Every two hours just for a few moments but still. I wasn’t going to complain but I knew I would feel better afterwards so thanks for “listening” I’m off to bed so I can begin my long night. Why must our children freak us out at every given opportunity???

We have reflux, then terrible two’s, then a few years of peace….next comes the fabulous teenage years….and then we will be grandparents listening to our kids’ troubles with their own kids.
I hope Kayleigh is doing better!!! That must have been so scary….

December 13, 2006 at 1:24 am #20233AnonymousInactiveThanks guys. We are both a bit tired today but otherwise everything appears to be OK. She went off to pre-school today and I to work. The only thing was that she appeared to have a few of her epileptic moments while at school and prior to her nap. She had been doing so well with not having any. So I called her nuero and we are back to counting how many, what time of day and for how long for the next week. UGH! I’m still counting my blessings though that she didn’t split her head open cause I’m terrified of having to see her get stitched up! Here goes another entry in her baby book titled “how I scared my mom let me count the ways” LOL Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day!

She was running to get into the house when we got home from school, she tripped and slammed her head into the door frame. She actually did split her forehead open – in a vertical line right in the middle of her forehead. We dragged her to the ER, where they started to get stitches ready, then decided they were going to “glue” it shut, then they ended up doing nothing! She spent the next two weeks showing her “boo-boo” to anyone that would listen. She still has a scar from it, but it’s gradually fading. I hope that Kayleigh’s seizures stop soon. That must be so nerve wracking for you.
