Hello all,
Sorry it has taken so long to get around to this, we have had so much medical stuff going on, I can’t keep up. Anyway, as suggested I went to Yahoo financial and got the name of the CEO of united and his phone number. I spoke to his administrative assistant and she gave me the fax number. I typed a very business like letter which I will post a copy of for anyone who wants to read it, and faxed it to his office. It then got sent from the CEO’s office to a customer relations officer linked to his office. This woman basically became and advocate of sorts and handled the whole situation personally. I had to have letters faxed from the GI, the pediatrician, the pharmacist, and the allergist to this woman stating everything that we have gone through. The allergist confirmed his dairy allergy and the compounding pharmacist confirmed the presence of dairy in the solutabs and the various drugs they wanted to use that either wouldn’t work or weren’t approved for peds by the fda. After all this leg work, which is a pain I won’t lie, about 7-10 days late I recieved a letter in the mail stating that the request was approved and would be so for 1 year at which time we would have to resubmit the request. I hope anyone else has the same luck. I have posted the letter in a separate post to keep things short. Feel free to adjust it as needed and use it as template.
