Got the caracream!!

So I was waiting for the caracream to arrive and it turned up today

Thank goodness as yesterday I went to the drs to get some more suspension as this seems to be the only thing working and she wrote me a new prescription for it but did it as 20mg/5ml which prob won’t work after reading on here that you are meant to give over 3.5mls of it to have enough buffer because her dose would be 2.5mls twice a day!! But hey try explaining that to the pharmacist, she couldn’t understand what i was saying and said thats the only strength they do it in because it gets specially made somewhere else.

Well if its specially made why can’t they make it 2mg/ml like i wanted?!?!?! I give up on all drs and pharmacists.

So now i am going to be mummy pharmacist!! Wish me luck and i hope it works!!

Er quick question for those who used it>> did you tell your drs you were using it or does Dr Philips contact them at all? I’m always wary about doing things without the dr knowing incase something goes wrong don’t know why though as i seem more knowledgable on reflux then them!!

Dr Phillips created caracream, and he told me to give 2.67 mL 3 times per day. therefore, i dont think you have to give a minimum of 3.5 ML. you can email him and ask him.

I would email and ask just to be sure. Joel called me at home and told me to make sure it was 3.5ml per dose or more… don’t you have to do the same thing with Zegerid as well? I agree he probably knows what he’s talking about, but better safe than sorry… once they told me to put 8 capsules into the therasol (instead of 16!) so she wasn’t getting any meds for two weeks. I guess my point is that we’re all fallable so best to check for sure. I really hope that this is the answer for you. Keep us posted.

I told some of my docs and not others. I usually tried to explain it to them, and then gave them marci-kids address for additional info if they wanted it.

the caracream says to give her 5ml which is good but i’m making it up myself!

the pharmacy made one which said 2.5ml so i know that won’t work!
