My 5 week old son has been on Neocate now for 3 weeks and still has diarreah. It may be a stretch, but I found out my dog (inside dog) had Giardia 2 days before the baby was born. We had the dog boarded and treated, and the house steam cleaned. The dog tested okay to come home, but I am wondering if my baby got it somehow and that is what is causing his chronic diarrhea. Could this be possible? Am I just desperate and therefore grasping into thin air?

can you talk to your ped and have a stool test to check? Giardia is nasty (very contagious) stuff and you certainly don’t want your baby with it. Also c-diff can cause chronic diahhrea. I would ask to test both of those.

we ahd shane checked for giardia.. or other parasites.. you just have to get your ped.. to take a stool sample from your son everyday for three days .. and sent to the lab ..
