OK, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on this board! Happily, Owen’s reflux and MSPI resolved around 15 months, and now he eats (and loves) all foods!
I’m due at the end of November with a little girl, and my husband and I are bracing ourselves for the real possiblity of another refluxer with MSPI. We’re obviously more prepared than we were last time–I’ve already talked to the pediatrician and am ready to purchase Nutramigen! My question is this–Would it be beneficial for me to start an MSPI diet now or in the next two weeks? I hate the thought of it (who wants to give up cheese?!), but if it will make things easier, I’ll do it.BFing didn’t work well for us last time (supply issues), but I want to try again. So, how would y’all suggest that we (I) get ready?October 29, 2007 at 12:34 pm #44743AnonymousInactiveNo suggestions, just CONGRATULATIONS!!

It can take 2 (plus) weeks to get milk & soy proteins out of your system, so it’s worth a shot to clear these out of your diet now, so that when your milk comes in, it comes in w/o milk and soy proteins…I would also keep some cherry mylanta supreme on hand (even helped my non refluxer with gas!), just in case…and heck, if you have any zantac…as far as breastfeeding help: I’d find both an Int’l Board Certified Lactation Consultant http://www.iblce.org/contact.htmand I’d locate my local La Leche LeagueThe La Leche League Breastfeeding Helpline – US began on June 1, 2007. Everyone in the U.S.A. will have access to toll free breastfeeding help 24 hours a day. Just call 1-877-4-LALECHE (1-877-452-5324).

Good luck and congrats! You’ll be an old pro at whatever is thrown your way!!
October 30, 2007 at 11:31 am #44789AnonymousInactiveThanks everyone! We’re super-excited as the end nears! I guess I’m going to start the diet (tomorrow). I’m going convince myself that this will also help me lose the post-baby weight…
Laura, as usual, you ROCK! I just saw a post you had on the BabyBargains message boards. There’s another good post you might want to reply to in the Feeding forum. I replied, and referred them here (and to you). And, we continue to keep Mylanta (Cherry Supreme, of course!) on hand. At least this time I’ll know what I’m looking for, and we already have a Ped. GI that we know and like! -
