Im curious to know if this formula will make acid reflex act up.. cuz i knotied it amino acid based and im not sure if it will cause it to act up…

Have you ever used this formula? what was ur experience ( pros/cons )

also have you knoticed that your child wants to eat more often for example he will go to bed at 8 and sleep tell 8 and now he wakes up at 4 for a bottle, never did that????????????????

Neocate definitely did not make reflux act up. I guess what you are worried about is the word ‘acid’. Neocate is made up of ‘free amino acids’…and I like to think of them as good acids for babies who cannot handle plant or animal based milk formulas. It was the ONLY formula that did not flare up my sons reflux. If you are just starting out on it, you may notice an increase in spit up and that is b/c neocate is so thin, however this will resolve in time. Neocate takes time to heal the gut and get rid of “bad” protein buildup. I hope I am making sense!!!

We had no “cons” on this formula, only pros. We saw a dramatic decrease in reflux and it resolved MSPI for us. We had a happy baby once we were on Neocate and a good dose of a PPI.

Your son could be going through a growth spurt. Or, b/c he is now on a formula his little tummy can handle he can eat more without it hurting.

To further explain what Jill was saying. Neocate is an elemental formula that is amino acid based. Amino acids are the building blocks for protein (what makes protein) and therefore the protein aspect of the formula is broken down already so your little guy doesn’t have to work so hard to digest the formula. That may also make him appear more hungry but only b/c he digests it so much quicker b/c he doesn’t have to break it down as it is already broken down. I hope that makes sense. FYI I am a dietitian and that is the only reason I know that.
