As a last resort, we have Jenna on Alimentum. She’s been on it for 24 hours so far and is screeching and farting up a storm, way more than I remember her doing before. Is she just getting all the bad stuff out, or do you think she’s having a hard time on the Alimentum? She still isn’t sleeping well; she actually passes out on me in between screaming. I’ve never seen her with such horrible gas/tummy pains. It’s kind of scary. I’d call her pediatrician, except he’s been a total jerk regarding her health, lately.
Has anyone else experienced this?

She woke screaming from more gas pain. Eventually that subsided, and she slept through the night for the first time in weeks. And SO peacefully, too. She slept through the night again Saturday night, too. We’re hoping to make it three nights in a row, tonight. Still acid-y, but she’s sleeping better, so we’re hopeful.
For the record, her doctor was called (my husband did it from work), and he basically ignored it; he didn’t even wait for my husband to finish explaining her symptoms. He just figured we were calling again for her reflux and told us to throw some cereal into her Alimentum. So yeah. I hope you all have better doctors than we do.

We experienced some VERY loose stools and gas when we first switched to Alimentum, but as soon as her body adjusted (a few days to a week, maybe??) everything was GREAT!!! I hope it continues to be that way for you too!

All the “bad stuff” will take a bit of time to get out of her system, hopefully it won’t take too long!Good luck!

He’s been on Alimentum (switched from Similac Sensitive) since Monday 1/5 but I’m seeing no improvements so far. His stools are pure green/orange/yellow slime. He has horrible gas everyday all day! It’s so foul smelling, I can’t believe something that horrible comes from something so small!
I can also feel the gas bubbles working in his little belly! It’s like they pop on my hands when I rest my hand on his belly. You can hear him digesting everything as well – it’s so loud!
So, I guess my question is – should we switch. It sounds like your little ones felt better fairly quickly on the Alimentum. He’s in so much pain and I just don’t know if we should keep messing around with it (even though I know we’re supposed to wait the full 2 wks!)
