Just an FYI because many people are not aware of this:
When a child needs to be on a specific formula per the doctor, most insurances will at least cover a portion of it. It is easier to get this covered through a distributor because if you call the insurance company yourself and ask if they cover baby formula, many will say “NO”
A friend of mine has hers covered 50%, mine is covered 100%. The company I use is called APRIA. I know it’s not just a local company, but not sure where it is. It is a durable medical equipment place, but they do do formula. Just call them up, tell them your insurance, and they will tell you if they participate. If they do you just have your doc fax over a script, and in about 3 days you have a month supply of formula at your door step.
If anyone would like the number just let me know. I have it at home, but I’m at work right now, so I can’t post it this second.
