Food trial has failed

A little update.

The vomit is under control with continuos feed. iam still mixing half pedialyte and half formula. She seems a bit happier this afternoon, so i tried a 30cc bolus just now and will check her stomach in hour to see if her empting has improved.
They checked her poop for blood and rotavirus and is negative (thanks goodness). We are still waiting on the culture one. I’ll know more tomorrow. the ped really think she got a stomach bug, b/c of how watery her poop was. We will be checking her ears (again). We are all so tired, but it could be worst. thanks for the support.

That’s great that the vomiting has stopped. Hopefully it was a stomach bug and it won’t happen again. I hope things settle down soon and you can get some rest.

Kendra continues to be sick and has lost 10 ounces already the other test came back negative and the ped has ordered a C-diff test as her diahrea(sp?) continues to be bad. Her bottom is so raw. We will know tomorrow. C-diff is very nasty stuff and hard to get rid off. The ped thinks it might be from the antibiotic shot she got 12 days ago for her ear infection. kendra does not need that right now, with all her guts issues (i am sorry , iam so fustrated). this is a vent. thank you for reading.

Just reading this now, I’m so sorry to hear that Kendra is so sick! I hope you get some answers soon, and that she starts feeling better! It is so hard to see a little one go through so much! Big HUGS!

Hi, everyone, it’s me again
thank you so much for the support and replies. All the testing for a lot of diffrent bacterias plus the c-diff, came back NEGATIVE. iam very happy with this good news. The ped really think it is viral and it says it takes baout 7 to 8 days for the body to get rid of.
kendra’s still having her emptying problem(only toleratig 35cc per hour), but the diharrea has gotten better and the throwing up is controlled this way.
Thanks again. I’ll’ keep waiting for her stomach to go back to normal. I really thought it was the food she ate, but now it’s hard to tell wether it was the food or the virus she got.

sorry for my pitty party. I hoped that things wuld be better by now and a year later we are still struggling with other things now.
