So my 9 1/2 month old with reflux finally slept through the night! I am beyond happy. He put himself to sleep and although he did wake a few times it was never for more then a second and it is 7 am and he is still sleeping! I am shocked and happy all at the same time. I just wanted to share because it has been over 9 months of sleeping hell. So hopefully his reflux is finally getting better and I can finally get a full night sleep! I never thought this day would come!

My son is on Elecare and since he is 9 months we have been eating solids for quite some time which has helped tremendously! We stay away from acidic foods although he did just have mangos and peaches and did okay. He has a bottle 5 times a day and solids 3 times a day. I let him sit in his high chair for a half hour after each meal so he digests and it does not come up on him. He also does not nap for at least an hour after his bottle (except at night… It’s about 20 mins after his bottle) and that seems really to help. I give mylanta at night before bed because after his last bottle he is very tired and laying him down only 20 mins after eating he tends to get reflux so the mylanta helps with that!! I have seen all the spam on here, such a shame!! Good luck
June 3, 2013 at 8:29 pm #72276hellbenntKeymasterthanks!
ok: what would you do if there wasn’t tummy care max?
and where do you buy/find your mylanta? what brand are you using?
are you happy w/ your dr? did/do you go to a per GI? or, is your pediatrician great? what dosing do/did you use? high, ‘marci-kids’ dosing? on your own or with the dr knowing/approving?
thanks!
June 3, 2013 at 9:00 pm #72277AnonymousInactiveOkay…. If there was no tummy care and knowing what I know now, I would probably make my own mixture using the recipe on the site. I use the high Marci kids dosing. We will start to try and decrease soon. I did go see a Pediatric GI who did give me some good tips but fought me on the medicine and would not increase dose or believe me that Brandon was suffering and in pain. He kept trying to tell me he was Colic!!! It drove me crazy. That is when I found tummy care and it worked wonders. Needless to say I never went back to the GI. My pediatrician is awesome. Very supportive and helpful! Brandon’s reflux isn’t so mucj and issue anymore so it is not the main topic during his appointments. What really helped me during his bad reflux days were a few things: this website, blogs from moms, and the book colic solved. I did a ton of reading and research and learned as much as I could and just kept reading what other moms were saying, they know best! My doctor does “know” what medicine Brandon is on. He asked and I said compounded Prilosec and I did tell him the dose. I didn’t tell that it was tummy care, not for any reason but he didn’t ask. Hope this helps!
June 3, 2013 at 9:15 pm #72278hellbenntKeymasterit DOES help! so I can let others know, when they first find this site, etc.
Would you post your drs? The good and the bad? you can post it all under the following link, or, post the ped GI in the link and look for the link to ‘other’ doctors and post your pediatrician there. either way
Looking for GI: https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=660
there are recommendations for ped GIs in your area…
