Feeling confused

It almost seems like Kaden is regressing, instead of progressing. He is still on Ranitidine. He is on Alimentum. I burp him alot during a feeding. I keep him upright after a feeding. I have his mattress propped up at an angle. Yet, he just keeps getting crankier and pukier. I lie him down to change his diaper and it either trickles out of his mouth, or it shoots out. His stools are liquid-y, but apparently that is not abnormal on the formula. I am beginning to get really frustrated. He is gaining weight though, so that is wonderful

I am too the point, that instead of burp clothes over my shoulder, I use receiving blankets as they hold more. I put bibs on him in the car seat so the straps won’t stink like formula when he pukes. It’s not that he pukes alot, it is just a small amount all the time. With the exception of a few huge ones.

We are going to the Peds tomorrow for his 2 month needles, so will be discussing the meds and how they are not working as well as before, then. Is maybe the alimentum not agreeing as well?

I now am starting to understand that yes, reflux and all the wonderful things that go with it, is a rollercoaster ride. For every good day, a few bad ones seem to follow.

Even my elderly neighbour said last night when we were outside, that she hears him crying all the time and it breaks her heart……………..

Anyhow, I am just thankful to have found this site and so many wonderful people that understand…………………

Burp clothes are a joke. Receiving blankets and towels were our best friend. I really think that Kaden needs to be a on a PPI and a good dose at that. And esp if he is gaining wt well the Zantac isn’t going to work for very long before you have to up the dose as it is very wt sensitive. But those are just my opinions.

I think that the meds are going to be a large part of our appt tomorrow…..cause something definatly needs to change. I completely agree.

Our probiotics are finished now, and am not sure if we should keep up with them…..although I didnt see much of a difference on them I am sure they served their purpose……..

I try to stay positive but sometimes this just gets to me………

I am so sorry Kaden is still having a rough time! Reflux just isn’t fair. I hope you get a PPI to try tomorrow. Try to hang in there. This stuff is really hard but it will get better.

I hope your appt goes well. Update us please My GI doc wanted to put Ava on Reglan. It helps the stomach empty faster therefore limiting the vomiting. It has some side effects though, so I opted against it. The Neocate has helped her spitting up and she is on Prevacid. Some docs want to do a gastric emptying test to determine if they need reglan, some just prescribe it.

If you are not having romantic feelings for her– don’t beat yourself up over it. There are tons of circumstances in life where you may hit it off really well with a person and have a lot of great connections. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle with them.

I think that if the relationship was fully wanted; you’d be excited to be with them, you’d want to do anything to be around them. However, if you are having doubts, then that is a gut instinct that the situation will probably not work out. Please remember that this does not make her any less of a great girl; but you are instead stopping yourself from leading her on and giving her the oppurtunity to find someone who will have the connection you wished you had.

Hang in there! Since your LO is still having symptoms on the Ali I would recommend checking with your ped about meds and also possibly switching to an elemental formula. They are made up of individual amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) so they are the safest and easiest for children with milk allergies to digest.
