my son had an endoscopy/colonoscopy today because his feeding aversion and symptoms have returned, after a 2-3 week “honeymoon” with no feeding aversion. he’s been on neocate 6.5 weeks now. well, the GI dr. said the pictures all looked fine but mentioned that he could not go far enough into the small intestine as he normally does, and that he “can’t remember the last time that has happened” and then continued to ask if our son has had an upper GI and how long ago it was done. our son did have one, 3 months ago, and it was fine. i wish i would have asked the dr. more about this but our son was waking up from the anesthesia crying and then the dr. had to leave and said we will talk more in 2 weeks at the follow-up appt when we get the biopsy results. has anyone ever heard of that, not being able to go into the small intestine much during an endoscopy? i wish i would have asked him more because not it’s bothering me so much that i have to wait 2 weeks to get more info!
also- more info- my son has a milk/soy allergy, as well, as reflux, feeding aversion and all the symtpoms that go along with the feeding aversion and reflux, though he has more of a silent reflux. he is on prevacid 7.5mg twice a day, and zyrtec for allergies, and on neocate formula.
thanks!!!
