I don’t know why this is not known. IT stinks! It’s been 4yrs since my baby was medicated and, sadly, not a whole lot has changed. There has been SOME change, thank goodness! but not a lot…

as for the % of bicarbonate? if your dose is high like 7mls then that % of sodium bicarbonate is fine. Why don’t you print out what you want, re-type it into big print and go SMILE at the pharmacist and BEG for it to be made that way…tell her/him to PLEASE HUMOUR YOU. say this is from a DOCTOR OF PHARMACOLOGY who is CURRENTLY doing RESEARCH.

as for how to space the prevacid– give 1st thing in the am and before bed & give the axid (I think that’s what you have? zantac) at the HIGHEST dose in between then

I really feel for you. No one would listen to me, no one would prepare the meds the way I asked, either. It was very hard! BUT if it’s not made correctly, then it won’t work at all. If there’s not enough buffer then the med will break down before it gets a chance to do it’s job. I had the pharmacist swear that Hailey must have bigger problems b/c the med was made fine… 8 months and a major feeding aversion later. Don’t even bother with the pharmacy. Get buffer babies. CaraCream saved us from what had become a nightmare. Good luck.
