i am so tired of taking massive amounts of meds just to feel semi-human—-and by the end of the day my family might tell you i’m not even that. i had food allewrgy testing done 3 years ago that showed nothing. i know that onions make me ill, so either it wasn’t tested or it didn’t show up. however——-12 or 13 years ago i had some “alternative” allergy testing done that did show me as sensitive to onions and numerous other things—-but i wouldn’t consider that testing reliable.

i have considered trying an elimination diet to see if food sensitivities could be a cause, or at least an aggravating factor, in my fibromyalgia, depression and anxiety problems.

i guess i’m asking those of you that have read up alot on it if you have seen any info that suggests it could be of help to me.

i have looked up info on it, but there is varying info.

I think it could be worth it, Christine. At worst, it’s only two weeks of the vary strict diet, and then you could start adding the foods back in. You would just need to be hyper vigiliant that you are eating enough calories. I know you are skinny already, so make sure you load up on the olive oil and drink lots of water too.

Would you do the Dr. Sears diet for breastfeeding moms or just try dropping foods first?

Brodie’s occupational therapist has done the TED (Dr. Sear’s version) more than once to try to pinpoint her allergy & skin issues. It’s definitely helped her.

I would think it’s certainly worth a try!

I don’t know much about it…but I don’t think it could hurt! At this point I’d say it’s definitely worth a try! As Naomi said though…make sure you’re eating ENOUGH calories! You don’t want to compound your issues with more weight loss!!
