Did you ever give you child Prevacid and Zantac?

At the same time like meaning where they on both medicines throughout the day?

If so what was there dosage for each….

Like im debating, prevacid alone dont help him 100% but zantac and Prevacid both in a day help alot..

Just curious to see how much you gave you little one…

Because prevacid is 15mgs tabs but he has to take two of them in the am..

and the zantac is 2mls 3x’s daily.. didnt know if even tho im continuing the prevacid toooo if i should lower the dosage or what? Please give me some insite what your child took if he or she took both in a day.

I’d cont. doing both. Some babies need both in order to feel better. I’d do what the doc said to do as far as dose amounts. The only thing is to remember that the prevacid and zantac have to be given 4 hrs apart. HTH!

When we were doing Prevacid & Zantac we did:

7am: 15mg Prevacid

2pm: 2mL Zantac

7pm: 15mg Prevacid

Middle of the night: Zantac, as needed

I give Jedd Axid in the a.m. and Prilosec in the middle of the night. It seems to wokr pretty good for us. This is a recent thing here. We had done Prilosec 2x’s a day for a while. It worked great but instead of weaning we are trying to SLOWLY move to a H2blocker.

We also have a sneaky suspicion that the HIGH dose Jedd was on was causing his belly to empty slower. If you google DGE and PPI’s you’ll see what I’mtalking about. It rare but it occurs. I KNOW it was happening with Jedd.

He had extensive testing on his GI tract that prived his belly woudl empty properly BUT I coudl check gastric contents and he woudl be full hours after feeds. Hecne the need to move to a H2 if we can.
