I’m posting for Conners__Mommy
because she started a new topic on a thread & I’m doing some housekeepinghere is the first thread/topic, so read here, first (if you want, lol):then please reply here about her last post, which is:Conners_Mommy wrote: Thank you for being so understanding. I am at a total loss. Conner Finally went to bed after a warm bath, I think he was just so over tired that he didnt know what to do with himself.
This morning however, my husband said that Conner is having Diarreah again, Im not sure if it is due to the Karo syrup, Zantac and the fact that we forgot to add his oatmeal to the bottle, or if he is just now developing signs of a Soy intolerance.UHG! How I wish babies came with manuals….or if they could just talk lol.Im calling the GI again to let him know about Conner having the runs. What symptoms should I be looking for if Conner is MSPI? I have only had babies with milk allergies, so would it be the same allergic reactions with Soy? Conner 10/14/08- Silent Reflux at birth,Nutramigen, Prosobee, Gentlease, Zantac 0.5 ML 2 times a day.December 3, 2008 at 6:07 pm #59164AnonymousInactiveThank you very much. I am just losing my mind over here lol. I would be able to handle this a lot better if I wasn’t suffering from severe Post Partum Depression, so it’s harder for me to handle things this time around. My husband bought me a baby sling today, and it is working miracles so far. I am able do the things I need to do around the house without having to stop and check on him or run and stick the binky back in his mouth 38458934 times lol.
I called his GI back, and he said the 3 tsp of Karo syrup might be to much for him, so he has me only doing 1 tsp a day for 5 days, and if he doesnt go back to normal BM then I can up it to 2 tsp if he is still constipated, and if he is still having diarreah, he is going to write me a RX for neocate, and if that doesn’t work, we are going to do both a upper and lower GI.I had decided to give him his dose of Prevacid…because with it he wasn’t spitting up or quite as fussy, and after the prevacid he was able to go to sleep. Now where can I get caracream or bufferbabies? Is it an Rx substance, or can I purchase it or something like it over the counter? Also, I was wondering if I should consider giving him a full 30mg at one time? I know a lot of you go against doctors orders on some stuff, and it had worked for some of those, and at this point im willing to try anything to make Conner happy. Thanks again…..December 3, 2008 at 9:00 pm #59170hellbenntKeymasterit’s best t osplit the dose into 2 or even 3 times a day bcse babies have very fast metabolisms & speed through the dose of medication and if htey get it all at once, they zip through it and then there’s nothing ‘left’ to tide them over for a whole 24hrs- an adult is another story…we have much slower metabolisms…
as for where to get the bufferbabies/caracream, here you go:December 3, 2008 at 9:05 pm #59171AnonymousInactiveLaura you took the words right out of my mouth re the dosing 2-3 times/day. I guess great minds think alike! I will say that I never went against my doctor, but I would have if he had not been willing to up the dose. He actually gave me 30mg/day when I only asked for 22.5 which I think is pretty unheard of, he did tell me to only use it for 1 week and when it worked I went to my regular ped and asked her to write the script for us. But again I have been very lucky, but I think that is b/c both dh and I work in the hospital and we know most of the docs really well. Good Luck, I hope the baby sling helps you.
December 4, 2008 at 1:58 pm #59186AnonymousInactiveMaybe you can get another doc? Whereabouts are you? Maybe someone can recommend someone. Some people have had success in getting Dr. Phillips (from marci-kids, he’s a pharmD not an MD) call their doctors.
