We had out GI check up today and the Dr wants us to try to give Ash one dose of Nexium and she how she does for two weeks and if she does ok and then try NO Nexium and she how she does. Has anyone had good luck doing this. Ash turned 7 months today. Wish us luck.

In my expereince on these boards 7 months would be pretty early to grow out of the reflux. Personally I would probably just wait a bit longer (i’d just tell the dr I tried and it got worse!). Sorry I can’t really recollect your little ones story but is she on Nexium after trying all the other meds? If so I would be even less likely to wean until 9 months or later. Goodluck whatever you decide.

One day down and she has done ok. I know it’s still early.

Therese Ash was on zantac at one time and then Prevacid with no luck. At one time she was on 3 meds for her relfux. (Nexium, erhtryo, and Pericactin) We have succesfuly weaned her from the other two. Yeah. I did not like the Periactin. She also had to do a one day stay at Chidlren’s Hospital in Mo for IV zantac.

I just want her off of these meds. But I also do not want her to be any more pain.

Good luck Stacey! I know how it feels to want your baby off of meds. We are still weaning prevacid. We are at 15mg right now and sort of stuck there while landen has been on and off sick with ENT issues. lol We’ll continue our wean after his ear tubes are placed. Let us know how it goes with Ash.
