constipation

Apparently Justice is constipated. He didn’t go yesterday and today it came out hard. I’m not really sure how to help him. Sadly enough my first dealt with the same thing, but I can’t remember what I did. I know we took him to the chiropractor,but she is closed on Saturdays. I am also trying to figure out what made him constipated. The only new things he has had are corn and banannas. He has had banannas before, but he actually ate a whole bananna the other day. Does it sound like it could be either of those? Oh, would mylanta work for the constipation?

Corn and bananas are both foods which can cause consitpation. Myles was prone to constipation so he could never eat bananas, and I never tried corn because I knew it constipate him.

I’d just try some natural remedies and since this is diet related it should correct itself pretty quickly. I’d give him some prunes or prune juice by spoon or syringe if he won’t take a bottle and/or some Benefiber. Benefiber works very well for Myles. I used to give him 1/4 of a teaspoon. You can dissolve it in some water and give it to him by syringe, but I’d do it right before you nurse him because it’s supposed to be given with a fair amount of fluid.

Mylanta never worked for Myles (for constipation).

Thanks. I had a feeling it was one of the foods, but didn’t know both would be constipating. he is teething right now too. Poor baby. I now know why he has gone back to sleeping so horribly. Of course, it might have been a fluke he started sleeping so well anyway.

Bananas have been bad for Sarah too. We like benefiber around here.
