Colt was started on finger foods at 13 months, and 14 months but it didn’t work. At 15 months he slowly started eating finger foods but we had a lot of vomit to clean up. We just slowly trying over and over again. Something triggered by 16 months and he could and would eat anything. I think some babies take much longer that others but you just can’t give up. Colt didn’t get any therapy and it was just us not giving up. Remember he didn’t walk until 17 months either so he has been slow to pick some of these things up. One thing I think that we had on our side was a doctor who when Colt was only a month old was listening to Dr. Phillips and giving Zegerid according to that dose. He was already on Neocate and he never pushed us to start solids. I know some babies don’t hit a point where things just start working but we are so thankful that we are lucky enough to have one who had that happen. The only thing we are really having problems with now is that he is allergic to soy and we can’t find very many foods without it.

Thanks. I’m glad to hear that he started eating. I’m just being patient with Myles but I don’t really give him anything but puffs and dissovle foods because he just gags on anything else.

My middle child was on purees until 18 months (!) but that’s because she was very resistant to trying new things. She didn’t gag, she just refused or spit it out. She finally started eating table food at around 18 months. Now she’s a fabulous eater.

I just wasn’t sure about the gagging thing…..if Myles will just outgrow it or what.

Yes, they do seem to put soy in everything. What a nuisance that must be for you.
