Hi,
Haden absolutely hates his car seat!! Do you think this is related to his reflux? I know the car seat/swing are not good “positions” for our little Gerdlings but he screams even when he is happy prior to putting him in. Does anyone else have the same experience? I’m tempted to buy a new car seat and see if it makes a difference.
January 29, 2006 at 2:38 pm #266hellbenntKeymasteryep, could be the carseat…gerdlings can feel the pressure of the angle on their sensitive tummies
excuse the large font- I copied & pasted & can’t get it smaller somehow
to do a search: there’s the ‘search’ button located in the upper right hand corner of the screen
you put the key word/s you’re searching for
then you choose “Topic Subject” from the drop- down menu of “Search In”
then I like to choose “All Forums” from the drop- down menu of “Search Forum”
then I like to choose “Topic Start Date” from the drop- down menu of “Sort Results By” (this way I get all the posts from the past that might help me)

comfy in there and it keeps her at a really good angle and not
slumping/slouching like her old infant seat (Graco SnugRide) did.January 29, 2006 at 6:40 pm #271hellbenntKeymasterwe’re britax marathon lovers here. Jonah was rear-facing until he was just about 2 & 1/2 yrs old. He’s still in it, foward facing, as it goes up to 65 (or maybe it’s 85?) lbs…
I did a/the search for you for ‘car seats’: https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/search.asp?KW=car+seat& ;SM=1&SI=TC&FM=0&OB=2
January 29, 2006 at 6:47 pm #272AnonymousInactiveMy daughter also HATED her carseat for the first 3.5 months or so. She would scream and go nuts whenever I would even put her in it… made for fun projectile vomitting and choking car rides to say the least. Anyhow, she did outgrow it. If you’re looking to buy another infant seat, I personally would say that for the most part they’re all the same. If you’re looking at getting a convertible car seat, I too have heard great things about the Britax…but I see that your little one is only a few months old so might not be big enough for one yet (though theoretically I think they can go from birth up).
Laura- Wow! That’s great that you were able to keep him rear facing for so long. I turned mine around at 18 months, and I thought that I was pushing it…her feet were starting to touch the back seat. Did he ming being rear facing for so long? I’ve been told that it’s much safer to keep them rear facing for as long as you can (as long as their feet don’t touch). Though it is brutal on your back…
January 29, 2006 at 7:05 pm #273AnonymousInactiveThanks for the recommendations! I may try a convertible seat and see if he is more comfortable. Reflux I’ve learned is all about trial and experiments.
Laura-thanks for doing the car seat search for me-very NICE !

She would still be rear facing but I gave in to dh who had been campaigning to have her turned around ever since she turned a year old. She’s pretty tall, so her feet had been touching for quite a while, but it was never an issue.

It was much less expensive than purchasing the new carseat. Might be worth a shot…………….
January 29, 2006 at 10:19 pm #276AnonymousInactiveI’m going to try the cloth diaper tomorrow-definitely worth a try!
