ok I’m copying & pasting from anohter board- please no one throw tomatoes for plagerizing
So what you want to look for is …the one that has a harness in it, but that becomes a booster (Like the Graco Platinum Cargo or Evenflo Generations or Safety 1st Apex)…OR…look for a harnessed seat that doesn’t become a booster, but is bigger than the Triumph so you get a couple more years of use out of it, then hand it down to the baby (Like the Britax Marathon, Britax Regent, Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe, Sunshine Kids Radian, Graco Safeseat 2). These will keep her safely in a 5 point harness till she is age 5, then you can get a really good booster seat for her (kids must be in boosters till usually around age 10, and the Cargo and Generations, for example, aren’t actually big enough to do that, so you’d need another booster, anyway, like the Graco Turbo, or Britax Parkway, which is what she’s NOT old enough to be safe in now.

January 24, 2007 at 10:18 am #23010AnonymousInactiveI hate that they give AGES for when a child needs a booster, can wear a seat belt, can face forward, and can ride in the front seat. Not all kids are the exact same size at any age! My oldest will be 3 Friday and he’s the size of the average 5 year old!
The rules should go ONLY by height and weight. My kid might can ride in the front seat at 10 and yours might not meet the size requirement until he’s 14. KWIM?

I believe that the tests were side impact at that speed. Even if you drive regularly on the highway, it’s unlikely that someone will hit you from the side at that speed. So, hopefully you can have one less thing to worry about.

January 29, 2007 at 10:55 pm #23522AnonymousInactiveI need some recs for car seats for 2-3 year olds still battling reflux. Does anyone here use the safeguard go booster or the britax regent with success with an older reflux tot? DH is hesitant to order the safeguard online (they don’t sell it locally) and then find it’s just as bad a car writhing experience as we have now. ANY car seat/reflux advice please!
