Can this get worse with age?

I’m trying to determine for how long Jenna’s had reflux. I can remember her always squirming around and being a terrible sleeper. I wonder if it’s just gotten worse; she hardly sleeps at all, now, and you can tell she’s in real pain. Have any of you seen an increase in symptoms as your kid gets older? I know this is supposed to go away (unless of course there’s an underlying problem, such as an allergy) as the baby nears a year old though, right?

If a baby isn’t medicated (or if the meds aren’t enough), it could get worse as they get older because the damage starts to build up and kind of compound itself. I had a long discussion with my doctor about it.

My grand daughter had silent reflux. It appeared to get worse around 5 months (that’s when she started spitting up a lot), got worse when she started to sit up and crawl, then got better at 12 months. At a year, there’s very little spitting up, but some reflux.
