Hi..
Shane has had BRIGHT BRIGHT green poop.. on and off for the past couple weeks!! WHAT does this mean??? WEIRD.. like he swallowed green paint… the WHOLE thing is green.starting to get concerned.August 26, 2008 at 6:11 pm #55754AnonymousInactivehas he had anything new (a new snack or drink) with any bright colorings in it? i think grape sodas, blue or purple dyes, etc can do that (if you mean BRIGHT green that is) does he go to daycare? check with them! he might be getting something yo don’t know about!!!
coming back to add: a grape slush from sonic did this to kade once!jilly782008-08-26 18:12:29

Anything with artificial coloring in it is bound to cause some crazy poop colors. Hers was only one stool though…if this is happening frequently I would examine his diet for new foods/juices and see a doctor if he seems to have any other symptoms! I agree with Jill…if I drink too much grape soda my poo is green too!
August 28, 2008 at 12:55 pm #55825AnonymousInactiveSarah had bright fluorescent red poop! I was petrified. Turns out it was the red icing on a gingerbread elmo cookie that she ate the day prior. Those strange occurences tend to be nothing.
How are you feeling?August 28, 2008 at 2:23 pm #55830AnonymousInactiveYeah, I know what color you’re talking about and it has happened here before also. One time I was screaming at Kevin to look at Griffin’s poop b/c it was red and it didn’t look like blood, but I was just freaked out at the color and he was like “frosting Erica, red frosting”, he’s my calming spirit in the house! I would say foods are the source and I think any kind of processed snack, colored food will do this.
August 28, 2008 at 4:28 pm #55834AnonymousInactivei think i figured it out. i think it WAS the fruit snacks too! he always gets them.. but these were the welches ones.. hmmm weird cuz they were purple…..?
August 28, 2008 at 4:36 pm #55836AnonymousInactivepurple coloring seems to cause that bright green stuff—–wonder what the dye combo is that only makes the green show up—-or i guess it could be a chemical reaction in the intestinal system that makes the green show.
i remember a cool demonstration a teacher did once. he would pour a clear liquid into a beaker with another clear liquid in it, and then the liquid in the beaker would turn red. then he would pour some more clear liquid into the beaker and the liquid in the beaker would turn clear again.just in case you might run into these—-beets will make you pee pink and oreos turn poop black.September 5, 2008 at 9:18 pm #56157AnonymousInactivehaha. .now today we had a maroon/red poop. ugh… no clue what it could have been! what is going on with all these different colored poops?! whats next blue???
September 6, 2008 at 8:24 am #56162AnonymousInactivedon’t you mix blue and green together to make purple? I can’t remember but that may be why they were green with the purple fruit snacks. Hmmm makes you wonder.
