My son is now in an Eddie Bauer seat so I would really like to know what you heard too.

It’s about the 2 in1 (and we’re in Canada so that might be different)not the 3 in 1, just to clarify. We have Hailey in Sarah’s old 3 in 1. If you look in the top of the 3 in 1 where the seatbelt goes through, it’s very securely attached to the top of the chair. The person who installed our 2 in 1 said that it’s not a good chair for use as a booster because the part that holds the seat belt is very flimsy (held in place only by two small pieces of fabric). He said that he tells everyone who is installing the chair not to use it as a booster b/c if impact was applied to the part holding the seatbelt in it probably would tear right off. (Not fact by any means, but when I looked at it myself, I understood what he was talking about).

My 7 year old still sits in a booster, and he hates it, but understands that it’s for his safety. He won’t be getting out of it until he is 4’9.

They just implemented strict new booster seat laws here. Can’t remember what they are, but it’s until they’re 8 years old or a cetain weight/height I can’t remember.

I think it’s 8 yrs or 80 lbs. I thought they passed that here, too. But maybe it was just North Dakota. I can’t remember.

Thanks for that link Laura. It convinced me even more that Aidan should stay rear facing as long as possible. I believe the convertible that we got will go rear facing until 30 lb.

Also ladies, I wanted to let you know that Consumer Reports lists the Evenflo Triumph 5 as the safest convertible seat. It’s ranked higher than the Britax Marathon and Roundabout in infant/toddler LATCH crash protection and in infant belt crash protection. That’s why I bought an Evenflo Triumph Premire because it has the same/more safety features as the Triumph 5, and like the Britax, the Evenflo Triumph also has side impact protection.
