Hi,
I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my LO…and I’m just getting more and more confused. My son is 9 weeks, diagnosed with severe reflux and larangomalacia. I’m trying to rule out MSPI, of course. He doesn’t have green stool very often. He DOES have mucousy stool, and he DOES have that terrible rotten-egg smelling gas. He also is having little tiny black/purple specs in his stool (we see the GI next week and I’m sure we’ll start doing the hemo-occult cards to be sure). I went dairy-free for 3 weeks, and didn’t notice much of a difference, in fact he was almost a bit worse really….however he seemed to improve a bit when I went back ON dairy. I’m wondering if that was because I was substituting soy for the dairy? So maybe an increase in soy made things worse?
So…I’d like to go soy-free for several weeks and see how he does with that. I have a list of all the things to avoid (all the hidden culprits) for dairy. But do you have suggestions for soy? For example, do I avoid ALL forms of soy, including soybean oil and soy lethicin?
Thanks for any suggestions and help!
