I’ve been on a TED for 4 weeks. Improvement, but still mucus poos and fussiness remains.
Something in my gut (no pun intended!) tells me that it might be grains. Has anyone had to cut out all grains (including rice) to see results?June 25, 2010 at 4:35 pm #66551hellbenntKeymasterrice. yes. next cut out rice and see if it helps. then you’ll know that’s the culprit. is rice the only grain you’re eating? if so, then yes, it most certainly can be the rice. if it IS the rice, then you can try adding in another grain like wheat (eat bread, pasta, etc) and see how it goes. and so on 🙂
June 26, 2010 at 1:27 am #66558AnonymousInactiveI had to cut out rice w/ both my dss while on TED. Not to deter you, but eventually I had to cut out turkey & pears too (Eek – I know). Yes, my kids are/were intolerant to 3 out of the 7 things on TED :).
If you’re eating a lot of rice I would replace it w/ a lot of potatoes (I have TONS of suggestions on my sticky – Laura – link it please?! since I was only eating potatoes, beef, apples & squash for like 7 mths-lol).
Hang in there & keep us posted.
June 26, 2010 at 9:22 am #66560AnonymousInactiveThankyou, TBH am close to giving up and using Neocate. Just so tired. I need to start weaning (he’s 7 months). I don’t want to be stuck thinking is it the ___ in my diet, or the food he has eaten.
Have been off dairy and soy since he waas 6 weeks which got rid of the screaming colic and improved reflux. Mucus appeared at 3 months, and has never gone away, hence the TED. Have realised it has actually been nearer 7 weeks now (time flies ha ha!). No difference.
Also considering adding all back in except dairy and soy (as before) and just putting up with the mucus and fussiness. I just don’t know what to do for the best and I am driving myself (and my OH) mad with worry and obsesiveness. I just feel so awful.
June 26, 2010 at 12:14 pm #66561hellbenntKeymasterok what are you eating? just the basic TED foods (potatoes, sweet potatoes, rice, free range ground turkey & lamb and pears?
