Hi All,
Just wanted to update you on Alana’s progress. I feel so blessed and joyful that she is feeling her best. I hope that I can rub some of our wonderful luck onto mums that are still struggling (sometimes I feel a little guilty for my luck but then I know you will all be happy for us). For those mums new to the forum I wanted to let you know that things can get better.
Alana made the transition from 5 to 4 bottles with no worries. She drains the bottles she gets, but isn’t grizzly for more. No more comfort eating
After a bit of a rough start we are successfully doing three solid feeds a day. She loves them. We tried chicken today- scoffed down twice the amount she usually does.
We haven’t used Zantac in about two weeks. No breakthrough reflux. In a months time we are going to try halving the zoton (from 30 to 15).
We have made the tranistion to work (me) and three days at childcare (alana) very well. she loves daycare and finds it all much more exciting than being at home with her boring and wako mum.
Despite all these changes Alana is sleeping through the night. She may be unsettled once or twice but a quick dummy drop into the mouth and bobs your uncle-back to sleep
You know, this is all because of you guys. Our success is your success. I have read all your posts, found inspiration, support, things to try, kindness and the will to beat this bloody reflux! I feel like I have found friends in the strangest of places.
Thankyou
(Gee I hope this post doesn’t come back to bite me in the butt later tonight)

She sounds like a delightful little girl!

February 2, 2007 at 4:57 pm #23880AnonymousInactiveYEAH!!!!!!!!!! You deserve it. You make me smile everytime I read your posts. I love that Aussie language. Not sure if that is the correct way to say it, but i think you know what I mean. I hope things keep going great for you.
February 2, 2007 at 6:01 pm #23887AnonymousInactive“dummy drop”- drop the dummy in the mouth in the dark as quick as you can without waking the baby- kind of like a game to play at sideshow alley or the circus

February 3, 2007 at 3:26 pm #23981AnonymousInactiveThat’s so great, Therese! I’m glad she’s doing so well. And so cute when they start cruising. Hailey didn’t start until she was over a year (but she also didn’t crawl until later.) Thanks for the update.s&h’s mum2007-2-3 15:27:23
