Well, Abby had her 6 month check up today. I was nervous going into it because usually my husband comes along (because I get queasy around needles) but he couldn’t as someone was coming to look at a car we have for sale. Anyway, Abby, Kayla and I headed off to the doctor’s office after work. I couldn’t believe she was at 50 percent for her weight (15 lbs, 5 oz), height (25 1/2 inches) and head (16 3/4 inches). Last time she was barely in the 10 percent range. So off we went into the exam room. The doctor came in and checked her over and said she looked great. He asked how her tummy was doing and I said “great thanks to my research”. He said that he had been prescribing Zegerid to other little ones since I educated him (boy do I miss Joel – this smiley reminds me of him because he used it a lot. Uh oh – I’m getting off topic). Anyway, I tried to fill Kayla in on what to expect with Abby getting her shots and didn’t quite know how she was going to handle it. Before the nurse gave Abby her shots, Kayla came up to her and said, “you are getting shots today so you stay healthy” and gave her a kiss. My heart swelled with pride – she was sooooo sweet to her little sis. Abby got 3 shots and cried for about 20 seconds and that was it. I didn’t pass out or even get queasy. Then Kayla came over by Abby and said “see, it wasn’t so bad” and Abby gave her a beaming smile. I just love my kiddos. I thank God every day for them. Kids are a true miracle!! Now I better get off the internet so the guy can call us back to let us know if he wants to buy the car!!

That’s so cute how Kayla was so tender with her baby sister. Those are some of the happies memories I have of my three; the way they love each other and take care of each other.
Great news about the doctor prescribing Zegerid for other babies! Hopefully in the near future all of our little refluxers will be treated properly and we mom’s won’t have to fight so hard to get them the meds they need.

And thats great that you are helping other moms and children out there by educating your doctor!

That’s great that Abby’s weight is back up!
It sounds like you have two wonderful kiddos! I am anxious to have another baby so that Sarah will have a sibling to love. Not anytime soon though…maybe in a few years. One difficult baby at a time!!
Smiles!
