Hey
So, just wanted to pick your brains on some of the classes you have taken Marisa to… i guess that the ones you go to are the ones that are prob closer to me as well.
Wanted to do a gym and a music class i think. Please let me know your recommendations…. also, have you been to the Rain or Shine playground? they say they offer classes starting 9months and Matthew is almost there and they have all types of stuff for babies 6 months and up
Thank you!

it’s drop-in, which is nice. Music and movement. I’ll email you the
link tonight. We also tried a trial gym babies class at NYC Kids Club
but Marisa freaked out (very unlike her) and we had to leave. What is the Rain or Shine Playground? That sounds cool!
May 1, 2006 at 6:57 pm #7335AnonymousInactiveI have another friend with a 2 year old now who lives right next to me… will ask her about some of the classes too. How do you get to Chelsea? You walk there i suppose?
I want to try one of the gym classes too given that Matthew is so mobile
Rain or Shine – it is a place a friend of mine told me about… i tried to look it up and could not find it but will walk past there one day. it is supposedly on 29th street… but her son is now 3 and she has not been in 2 years

I was surprised she didn’t like the gym class because she loves to
crawl and roll and get into everything. But something about it really
freaked her out.Maybe we’ll try again soon though. The other class is on 22nd between 5th and 6th – so we walk there. Here is the link – we’ll be going at 11:45 Thursday.
May 3, 2006 at 1:38 pm #7478AnonymousInactiveJust had to put my two cents in even though we’re on upper west.
We tried Gymboree this weekend-the gym class-and I think it was pretty good. Ian was literally laughing out loud (with only a couple of scared moments-but they tell me that’s normal for first class and they do get better). Only downside is you have to join for an entire session but can make up classes on different days. I think we’re going to join because Ian isn’t crawling at all and thought it would help. They have classes all over nyc.

May 3, 2006 at 2:27 pm #7490AnonymousInactiveThey do peekaboo, games, exercises with music, massage, slides, tunnels to go through, and a big tent to flop around with kids on top or under. Kind of hard to explain but can show you some things on friday (looking forward to it too!!). Only 45 min but that’s good for the age I think. I can also tell you more about feeding clinic then too:) Glad you guys are going as they were very nice.

May 3, 2006 at 4:26 pm #7506AnonymousInactiveI’m still so surprised that Marisa hated the NY Kids Club (same idea as
gymboree) so much – she is so social and active and mobile and loves
her music/movement class. Maybe it was something about the room in
particular – maybe we’ll give the actual gymboree class a try soon.May 11, 2006 at 4:17 pm #7892AnonymousInactiveWell, I took Matthew to the gymboree music class today and he loved it!! He behaved so well, was not really shy like he usually is, even though some kids were coming and touching hiss face etc. He woudl bang the instruments together and smile… so i think we will join for the next 4 or 5 weeks. You also get access to the gym at around noon each day which works perfectly for us and it is great for rainy days!
We are going to try the gym class on saturday and see how he reacts to that. No crawling at all so i don’t know if it is going to work. He just walks with our help so some of the stuff may be difficult? Who knows!
May 11, 2006 at 4:22 pm #7894AnonymousInactiveGreat news Thais!!! So glad your cutie loved it. We may have to give it
another try soon – although a bit out of the way for us. What time is
your class?May 11, 2006 at 4:24 pm #7895AnonymousInactiveThe class we are going to is thursdays at 11.45pm… we have to rush matthew’s feeding a bit but was worth it!
May 11, 2006 at 4:24 pm #7896AnonymousInactiveoops. AM that is
