Just wanted to add to the positive updates. Our little guy is now 9 months old. He is taking Prevacid via tummy care max. His symptoms started getting bad at about 4 months. He would constantly choke on the silent reflux, which was very scary. The Prevacid stopped that nearly completely. I’m not sure how, but it did! I was worried that food would be an issue, but so far we haven’t had any that made it worse. We haven’t increased his dose in awhile, so I thought maybe we could come off of it and so we did, but I noticed some choking developing. So we’ve put him back on, but on a smaller dose. I think solids have helped just keep things down!
Anyway, we will wait a few more months and then try again taking him off it entirely. We were in Roseville, CA, and saw Dr. Sorgea, a pediatrician. She was very supportive of us and started with Prevacid right away, vs. trying other types.
He is drooling a lot because of teething and I do think that makes it worse, but all in all he is pretty happy and doing better!! It was so helpful to have this as a resource! I no longer worry about the choking.
