Hi, I am new here. I have just posted on the introduce yourself thread and I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I have just begun to experience sleep problems with my 7 week old silent refluxer. She was sleeping through the night. I have never laid her flat, she is always in her carseat, swing etc. While I was still preg. with her I purchased the fisher price rock and play sleeper and this was what she was sleeping in until her reflux symptoms started and she was put on Zantac at 4 weeks old. I took her out of that and started putting her in the swing, carseat etc so she would be in a more upright position. I was planning on purchasing the tucker wedge and sling and then found numerous post online where parents were saying the rock and play is great for reflux. I have read that reflux infants should be at at least a 30 degree angle and the pack and play does not look that angled to me. I am wondering if anyone here uses this for their baby and does anyone know for sure the degree it is angled?

I read your intro (https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15153)
So much of this is trial & error! So, try the rock & play sleeper…welcome!what formula is your dd (dear daughter) on? or, are you breastfeeding?I have a LOT MORE to say and most of it’s here, in a link called ‘groupie intro.‘
it’s looooong but TRULY will help you- read through it, refer back to it,scroll through it/skim through it.hellbennt2012-04-25 19:14:09

None of my children have been able to take milk based formula, but my other 2 tolerated soy just fine.
I guess I will try the pack and play, I am just weary of worsening her symptoms if she is not elevated enough ya know?
Thank you for your response!!
I also had another question about Sandifers (sp?). After hearing that it is so common for reflux infants to have this as well I started looking it up. Not much info to be found about this disorder and what is out there is not very explainitory or detailed on symptoms. I found some videos that show children having “episodes” of this disorder, but honestly in most of them I do not see what I am suppose to see apparently. Most babies kick their feet and wave their little arms around especially when excited or playing and one video showed a baby grunting, arching and squirming, but isnt that just reflux? That is what reflux babies do. So I am kind of confused about this disorder. Can someone enlighten me as to what some of the symptoms would be. Thank you much!!!
