TED day 18 and discouraged- advice please!

The road to TED:

My EBF 3mo DS started refluxing and screaming during/after
feeding at 3 weeks. Ped suggested cutting out dairy, which I did, though at the
time I wasn’t aware of all the hidden sources, so I wasn’t truly dairy free. At
5 weeks he had diarrhea after I had lots of lemonade, so I cut out citrus. At
two months the reflux had gotten worse, constantly congested, very gassy, and
had a diaper with flecks of blood, and always mucus-y. Ped said my DS is
allergic to my milk and to put him on hypoallergenic formula. I said no thank
you, but did agree to trying Zantac for the reflux. At the same time I started
reading about baby allergies and decided to go top 8 free. That was December 15
(including hidden soy and dairy). No improvement so after two weeks of Zantac
and Top 8, and two more diapers with flecks of blood. I quit giving him Zantac
(He would scream at every dose) and on
December 26 I decided to give TED a shot.

Here’s what I’ve been eating:

Turkey- Shelton’s turkey sausage, Jennio ground turkey,
turkey breast

Rice- steamed brown rice, Erewhon gluten free rice crisp,
vanilla enriched rice milk, brown rice cakes with sea salt, brown rice pasta,
rice flour

Squash- yellow and green

Russet potatoes and Sweet potatoes, and twice Wendy’s fries

Olive oil (drizzled on everything), sea salt, pepper, canola
oil (for frying)

Allergen free multi-vitamin, iron, calcium, and fenugreek

Not doing pears because he got a rash on his mouth and groin
both times I had them.

So, this is day 18 TED (and day 29 top 8 free). I’ve been
logging everything: Spitting up has slightly
decreased slightly. Poop is still mucus-y,
though sometimes more liquid-y. The
color is kind of orangy/ golden, not yellow. We had a few green last month, but
none since. Also, no visible flecks of blood, so that’s good. He is still very gassy, which disturbs his
sleeping, as he wakes up in pain and struggles to relieve himself. (I’ve found
nursing him helps him to pass gas and poop.) I nurse him frequently, every 2
hours or so during the day and 3 hours at night, as he can’t see to handle
fuller feeds. (We’ve tried and he spits up A LOT!) Still very congested,
cleaning his nose twice a day. His naps are still erratic and he’s begun to
have a really hard settling at bedtime, but we never leave him alone to cry.

MY QUESTION IS THIS—Do I keep going with my current TED, or
replace something? I was thinking I’d see more improvement by now and I’m
getting discouraged. My next appt with Ped is in three weeks, and I really want
to get a handle on this so he doesn’t keep pushing formula. I am willing to do
whatever it takes to make MY MILK hypoallergenic for my little guy, and very,
very determined to continue EBFing. Should I get a referral for a Peg GI?
