well, i haven’t poked my head in here for some time just to give an update on the heiner family. sylvia has continued to do well since her fundo and having her tonsils and adenoids removed. she gave us a little reason to be concerned twice recently these last four months or so. we went through a bought of tummy problems and wretching, which prompted the ped gi to check her for celiac—but she does not have it,and the tummy problems seem to have disappeared. most recently, she complained of a lot of leg aches, but one day her hip joint started hurting so bad she limped for a few days—so our orthoped tested her for rheumatoid arthritis. now, she seems to be fine. kassie has been doing so well with her eating disorder that she finally put on enough body weight to start her period—-right around 20 years old. tianna found the courage to tell me that she has still been struggling with her eating disorder since high school—-i had thought she was well all this time. however, she has not gotten anywhere near a bad as she was when she had to be hospitalized. both of them now have good incentives to get and keep themselves well, now. kassie got engaged about 3 weeks ago–and tianna got engaged two weeks after kassie!!! kassie is getting married december 17, and tianna is getting married november 19—-i am hoping i will still be sane by the end of the holidays!! leif’s little girl, echo, is now a year old and is the prettiest little thing and getting into everything. kraigs twins are also a year old. his little girl, landry is a sweet little thing and smiles all the time. his little boy , austin, scares me—-that kid can scream like nobody’s business—and for a long time—he is definitely a mommy and daddy’s boy. daisy jane has a little boy that is about 6 weeks old and as cute as can be. he was so good for the first two weeks, but he’s gotten pretty fussy and is spitting alot—i’ve already told her i think she should be making an appt. with the ped gi—i think she is going to wait it out a littlr longer—-but she lives in the same town as the ped gi that helped us so much—so i know she has an excellent dr. close at hand. AND——tonight elliot jumped from a table and tried to touch the basketball hoop at the chruch house—-and fell and broke his arm!!! life is just an on going adventure around here!!

September 9, 2011 at 8:32 pm #68999hellbenntKeymasterCongratulations!!
I love reading your updates about your family!!I’m so happy for all the good news (aside from Elliot’s arm!)!two weddings? yikes!who are their fiances? where did they meet them (are they in college now or living at home?)? are they all close? will they live near one another (I’ve read how some twins remain close throughout their lives)?does daisy jane live near her husband’s family?who is near you? echo?sorry for all the questions, but I can’t seem to help myself~lauraSeptember 10, 2011 at 4:21 pm #69005AnonymousInactivekassie’s fiance, matt kihara (1/4 japanese) is from boise, idaho–but he has been living in pocatello where they have both been going to school. he is 21 and by the end of next spring he will have his masters degree in chemistry–smart kid. he is gentle and soft spoken. tianna’s fiance is justin maier and he is from simamish (SP?) washington. they met in rexburg where they are both going to school at BYU-I. he is 22 and is already making alot of money doing websites on the computer—but he is graduating in something this spring. i am guessing they will probably end up living in washington. i don,’ know where kasie and matt will end up. daisy and david and little baby ethan are living in boise, idaho where david is finishing up his master’s in accounting so he can be a CPA. i’m guessing they will probably end up living in boise. leif and caitlin and echo live right here in burley not far from us. kraig and rhonda and their twins, landry and austin, live at the botttom of the street that leif lives on—-it is a hill and curves around—one end of the road starts out being called 21st street and by the time you geet to the end it is called grandview lane????? kraig also has a little boy that is just about 8 months younger than sylvia that he has part of the time. his name is sean—and i have never seen a kid that smiles so much. we are hoping that kraig will eventually get custody of him. his mother is not well, kraig has had someproblems in his past–but he married a darn good wife that seems to be whipping him into shape—-and he loves to play the big brother role to all the girls—-especially when it comes to them getting married—i love it! javonni has a little boy that is about 6 years old—but we have only seen him once when he was really little. they live in another town. the kids are all cute–but echo is a real little beauty.
September 10, 2011 at 4:51 pm #69006hellbenntKeymasteraha! so it’s a true coincidence about the girls meeting their fiances/getting engaged, etc! I mean they could have discussed it all on the phone, etc, but it’s not like the four of them spend time together on a regular basis…
the fiances (seeing this word in type I keep thinking I’ve typed ‘finances’ lol) sound smart & wonderful! so do your children & grand-babies!!you’re lucky that at least leif and kraig and their families are close by; it must be hard to be far from the rest…kraig & javonni they are your step-kids, right? it’s great that everyone is so close, if not geographically, then in terms of being close as family…so happy for you!hellbennt2011-09-10 16:52:50
September 10, 2011 at 7:53 pm #69007AnonymousInactivewell, actually, as far as our family being close—-javonni doesn’t speak to us and hasn’t spoken to us in years—and i raised her from the time she was 10 years old. she does talk to kraig, though—and she did invite leif and daisy to her weddding. i called her a few times in the past and talked to her and she came to the funeral when my step-father died–but she has since changed her phone number—so i can’t call her anymore. i hear she isn’t particularly nice to her own mother, either. she only inviter her to hr wedding because her grandmother insisted. otherwise, everyone else seems to get along fairly well. ian has some struggles, we’re not exactly sure what is going on with him–but he still lives with us when he is home—but he can sometimes be gone for several days at a time. he is dating a gal that is pregnant—but it is not his baby. actually, echo has a very ethnic look of some sort to her, and leif didn’t know caitlin was pregnant until she was 4 or 5 months along—she says that 4 pregnancy tests came out negative—but shortly after leif broke up with another gal, she thought she felt movement and took a pregnancy test that was positive and then told leif she was pregnant. we suggested a paternity test—but he doesn’t care—he adores that little girl and tells her how special she is and how much he loves her—she’s his baby regardless as far as he is concerned. he’s a good kid—-man, i mean!!! gotta remember how old i really am!
January 8, 2012 at 10:35 pm #69672AnonymousInactivewell, i survived both weddings, the double reception, thanksgiving and christmas—and kevin having surgery 5 days before christmas!! my fibromyalgia even gave me a little bit of a reprieve during the weddings and i was able to take less pain medication for 3-4 weeks!!! however, it returned with a vengeance for several days near the end of all the excitement.
our family is now dealing with another difficult situation—-it appears that my sister has lung cancer, she is a non-smoker and will be having a biopsy on a rather large growth in her right lung tomorrow—i doubt there is much chance of them coming back and saying it is benign. non-smokers get a different kind of cancer than smokers—usually there are 3 types of something called non-small cell cancer. the type and stage of the cancer will decide the type of treatment. we are hoping for the best of the 3 bad choices which has the best chance for treatment.
any prayers you could send her way would be greatly appreciated. she lost her first husband to cancer when she was 23 with a 2 yr old and a 6 week old. we lost my oldest sister to metastatic breast cancer 9 years ago.some days you really realize how fragile life can be.January 9, 2012 at 7:50 pm #69683hellbenntKeymasterI’m so sorry to read your news about your sister!
I am also so happy to read your good news about the weddings/reception & the holidays!Who’s left at home with you now?Molly, Elliot, Samantha & Sylvia?January 10, 2012 at 3:47 pm #69690AnonymousInactivethose four are home, and ian is there sometimes—–i never really know when he is coming or going. he is struggling really bad with anxiety (wonder where he got that from?!) he works at walmart and has friend and a girlfriend in a town about 45 minutes away. his girlfriend has a baby—it is not his baby, but we like her anyway and as long as they are together—the two of them are basically considered family as far as i’m concerned. i’ve slept in the recliner with the baby—-definitely for the young!!!! she is only 5-6 bweeks old.
my sister’s biopsy was yesterday—and it is definitely cancer, they just have to find out which kind and what stage in order to decide on the treatment. -
