My son is 5 weeks old and on Pepcid. He has the worst gas. He is always struggling and straining and grunting. I can tell he is hurting. He farts all the time, but then I guess some gets trapped too because I can hear it bubbling in his stomach. I do not eat gassy foods- I have been on the TED diet since Monday too. I use Mylicon all day long, which makes him happy for a little bit, but then he is struggling again. I have also tried gripe water. It wakes him from sleep even. I timed him this morning and he did this grunting, straining for over an hour straight with no BM and no farting. I bicycle his little legs, lay him on his belly, burp him , etc but I just feel horrible for him. Also, if it means anything when he finally does poop it is like it is rocketed out of his bottom. It is really loud and you can feel all the gas coming with it. It can be a tiny BM and sounds like his diaper should be overflowing.
Has anyone used another product that helped their child? Is there an OTC med for adults that I could use for him? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I will stop the Mylicon for a bit too. It just seems that since I started the TED he is worse. He now has a rash/is broke out all around his mouth and to his ears and even on his eyelid. It is not eczema-like, it is a raised rash. He is also very fussy and yesterday only slept in like 45 min intervals….ugh
