At what point do you worry about blood in stool? Chloe is on Elecare and for the past two days, I have noticed a bit of bright red blood here and there in the mucous in her stools. She has been pooping a LOT for the past three or four days and they are not at all thick, but she is straining to get them out. Her stools are REALLY mucousy again as well. At what point do I need to worry and call the doctor?

How long has she been on EleCare? Did you just start using it? I would call the doctor and ask them, especially if she’s been on the formula for longer than a few weeks already. It’s normal to still have mucuous, etc, while your LO adjusts to the formula and while their guts heal, but like I said if she’s been on it for awhile now, then I would talk to the doctor.

She was on Neocate for a month, was still having issues so our GI had us try Elecare. She is doing soooo much better on the Elecare in a lot of ways, but then we started noticing these issues. She has been on Elecare for about 3 weeks.

Since she’s been on it for 3 wks and these issues have just started I think it’s definitely worth talking to your doctor about. I hope she continues to get better! Sorry I’m not much help.

Ugh! I’m sorry it’s happening right before going back to work! It just like how kids always get sick in the middle of the night, ever notice that?! Let us know what the doctor says. Hang in there

Will do! At least I only have about 6 weeks until the end of the school year and I will be home with my babies!
