..8 months old and back again, what a ride! Every time I think things are looking up and I go so far as to mention to someone how well my son has been doing the bottom drops out and we are back to rough days and nights! Poor little guy is working on two more top teeth and as is expected his reflux has really flared up! It seems worse than ever this time he is irritable most of the day and up every hour of the night, and instead of 2-3 good naps we are back to several cat naps. Our silent refluxer has turned into a projectile refluxer but I guess that may be partly attributed to the fact that he can crawl now. (?not sure?) He is not wanting anything to do with solids right now but thankfully he will still nurse.
I have just a few questions so here goes,
1) Should I speak with the doctor about adjusting his medication or just wait out the teething and see if things return back to normal. The medicine was working okay before. He was taking 2-3 one hour naps and waking twice a night to nurse. He still had issues but nothing in comparison to this. I am exhausted as I am the only one who can calm and comfort him through this.
2) How long does teething pain typically last and generally how long after the teething do the issues related to reflux calm back down (or does it?). The teeth broke through the gums about 2 days ago but he is still drooling a lot and pulling at his ear. At this point I cant really tell if he is still teething or just having pain from his reflux. (He has always pulls at his left ear when he is hurting)
3) He has become SO active lately. He crawls and pulls up on things bounces twists and turns constantly. Does anyone have any kind of suggestion as to how to keep and 8 month old partially still after meal time because obviously the more he moves about the more trouble he has...and again I want to reaffirm how thankful I am for this site. It gives me hope that there is an end to this rough road, however long away that may be.

My ds stopped spitting up all together when he was 10 months and standing on his own. Teething is a real pain for refluxers.. and it sounds like he is getting his eye teeth? if so those are the worst next to molars so he is probably in a great deal of pain.. are you giving any tylenol/motrin (generic of course)? They help tons and of course anything he gnaw on to help ease the pain as well. Good Luck.
